(Web Desk): The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has made a significant decrease in Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) price.

The official notification confirmed the new rates, which will be applicable from September 1, 2025.

As per OGRA, LPG prices have been lowered by Rs1.18 per kilogram. For consumers, this comes down to a reduction of Rs13.89 for an 11.8-kilogram cylinder. The new per-kilogram price of LPG is Rs214.19, while the price of an 11.8-kilogram household cylinder now stands at Rs2,527.47.

The regulator said the price reduction is in line with global market trends and is designed to reduce inflationary burdens on local consumers. LPG is still a major source of energy for millions of households in Pakistan, and the cut is likely to bring about considerable relief in terms of finances, particularly during peak consumption months.

OGRA also clarified that the revision is a part of regular monitoring and adjustments so that LPG prices in Pakistan are reasonable and aligned with global variations. The authority requests consumers to refer to official notifications to keep themselves updated about changes in LPG prices.

Last month, the price of LPG was set at Rs215.37 per kg for August, down from Rs233.10 in July — a decrease of Rs17.73 per kg. Consequently, the price of an 11.8kg domestic cylinder was fixed at Rs2,541.36.
