ISLAMABAD (Web Desk): NADRA launches amnesty for CNIC correction, offering legal protection to self-reporting citizens, while also cutting delivery times and updating service fees to improve efficiency and public trust.

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced an amnesty initiative, encouraging citizens to voluntarily correct any false or incorrect information on their CNICs, intentionally or unintentionally

In a public notice, NADRA assured that those who come forward will be granted legal protection while they update their identity details. The authority warned that failing to report inaccurate data may lead to legal consequences in the future.

This campaign is part of NADRA’s broader effort to ensure data accuracy, improve governance, and strengthen national security. Citizens are advised to visit their nearest registration centers to correct personal information without delay.

Alongside the amnesty, NADRA has announced service improvements. The delivery time for normal CNIC processing has been reduced from 30 to 15 working days. Updated CNIC service charges are as follows:

  • Normal: Rs 400 – 15 working days
  • Urgent: Rs 1,150 – 12 working days
  • Executive: Rs 2,150 – 6 working days

NADRA has also enhanced the issuance process of family registration certificates, aiming for faster, more efficient service. These reforms are part of NADRA’s ongoing drive to modernize identity systems and improve the citizen experience.
