B-form is as an official document through which a newborn is registered with NADRA’s record system. It is a fundamental right of every child to receive a registration certificate from their place of origin. NADRA has devised a convenient method to make it easier for parents to acquire the Child Registration Certificate.
In order to obtain a CRC, parents need to provide documented proof of the child’s birth from the relevant Union Council. One of the parents must be a holder of a National Identity Card (NIC) or a National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP). Parents are required to register their child within three months of birth to ensure the child is documented in the national database, according to NADRA’s regulations.
The process of B-form application starts by approaching the nearest NADRA office with the child’s computerised birth certificate. The applicant must be accompanied by one parent or a court-appointed guardian. In case of presence of both the parents, one acts as the applicant and other as verifier.
The application form needs to be verified by a Gazetted Officer or a public representative if only one parent is available.
NADRA’s rules demand the presence of child during the application process for identification purposes. It also made a photograph and fingerprints mandatory for a children aged 10 and above.
NADRA B-form fee
NADRA offers two convenient options to obtain B-form. As of November 2024, the fee for obtaining a B-form through regular services is Rs.50. It charges Rs500 for an executive service for a faster process. This ensures that parents have flexible options to complete their child’s registration based on their needs and urgency.
