
According to media officials, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) authorities have set up a special control room at the Directorate General to keep an eye on the ongoing flood situation brought on by heavy rains.
To effectively coordinate emergency responses and monitor flood developments, the control room is manned by committed staff members who work around the clock.
To guarantee prompt action in the event of an emergency, the Local Government Department has directed all field offices to keep in close contact with the control room.
To assist in managing relief efforts and minimizing damage throughout the province, ongoing monitoring of rainfall and flood conditions is being conducted.
The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) reports that recent flash floods and cloudbursts in KP have tragically killed 229 people and injured 40 more.

There were 12 children, 14 women, and 184 men among the dead. Buner (91 fatalities), Shangla (35), Mansehra (23), Bajaur (21), Swat (20), Battagram (15), and Lower Dir (5) are the districts most severely affected.
Significant home damage was also reported by the PDMA, with 68 homes impacted, 21 partially destroyed and 7 completely demolished.
Numerous districts have reported fatalities, with Bajaur and Battagram bearing the brunt of the damage.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to work closely with KP officials and use all available resources for rescue and relief operations.
