
KP government orders to collect funds urgently for the flood-hit families who were left without any property or shelter in the recent monsoon floods.
As per a notice given by the Finance Department, officers in Grade 17 and up will donate two days basic salary, whereas government employees from Grades 1 to 16 will give one day s pay. The deduction will be made from the August 2025 salary and will extend to government, semi-government and some private sector institutions.
The resolution was passed at a provincial cabinet meeting, where officials emphasized the urgent requirement for funds to help flood-hit families with food, shelter and medical aid. Money raised from the deductions from salaries will also be used for rehabilitation in hard-hit districts like Battagram, Bajaur, and Mansehra.

Floods in KP have caused a devastating cost, with confirmed official figures reporting at least 368 fatalities, 182 injuries, and widespread damage to more than 1,300 houses and 100 schools. Officials stressed that collective efforts are crucial in the process of rebuilding communities and restoring livelihoods.
Additionally, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and federal cabinet officials have contributed one month s salary to help relief efforts. In coordination with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), tents, medical teams and foodstuffs are being sent to the worst-hit regions.
