(Web Desk): An explosion near Mastung damaged a section of railway track, causing six carriages of the Jaffer Express to derail.

According to railway officials, the incident took place near Mastung when an explosion targeted the railway track as the Jaffar Express was en route from Quetta to Peshawar at around 9:00 a.m. The blast, which occurred near the Spizand area of Mastung, caused six carriages of the train to derail. Rescue teams reached the site immediately, and no passenger injuries were reported. Authorities confirmed that all passengers were safely evacuated.

Officials noted that this is not the first such incident in recent days. Only a few days earlier, another attempt to sabotage the Jaffar Express was foiled after an explosive device damaged the railway track in Sibi, narrowly avoiding a major accident.

In a separate development, three carriages of the Awam Express derailed at Khanpur City crossing in Rahim Yar Khan. The train was traveling from Peshawar to Karachi when the sudden mishap occurred. Railway officials stated that the derailed coaches were promptly disconnected from the rest of the train to ensure passenger safety.

The cause of the Khanpur accident has yet to be determined, but rescue teams from Rohri and Samasata were dispatched immediately to the location. Due to the derailment, train operations on the down track have been suspended, causing significant disruption to rail traffic and leaving passengers stranded.

Authorities are investigating both incidents and have assured the public that efforts are underway to restore normal train services as quickly as possible.
