ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has challenged the Islamabad High Court (IHC) judges' transfer in the Supreme Court.

The petition names the federal government, the registrars of Balochistan, Sindh, Lahore, and Islamabad High Courts as respondents. The petition has been filed under Article 184(3) of the Constitution, making the federal government and the four high courts parties to the case.

In the petition, former Prime Minister Imran Khan has requested that the judges  transfer notification be declared illegal, unconstitutional, and nullified, and that the principles of the Constitution and judicial independence be fully adhered to in the transfers.

He has further requested that the Supreme Court ensure the implementation of the principles established in the Al-Jehad Trust case.

It is worth mentioning that a few days ago, Imran Khan approached the Lahore High Court for an early hearing of his bail petitions in eight cases related to the May 9 incidents. Imran Khan filed miscellaneous applications for early hearings in the cases, including the attack on Jinnah House, and other related matters.
