ISLAMABAD (Web Desk): Pakistan's Ministry of Religious Affairs has reported the receipt of more than 71,000 applications in the initial phase of the Hajj 2026 government scheme.

This phase was concluded on August 9 and was exclusively open to individuals who had previously registered for the pilgrimage. Applicants were required to submit the first installment of Rs500,000 along with their applications.

The second phase of applications is scheduled to commence on August 11 and will run until August 16. During this period, both registered and unregistered intending pilgrims can submit their applications, provided they include the first installment of the Hajj expenses. On a first-come, first-served basis, the selection process will continue, and until the allocated quota is filled, the applications will be accepted.

Pakistan s total Hajj quota for 2026 stands at 179,210 pilgrims, with 129,210 seats allocated for the government scheme and the remainder for private tour operators. A long-duration package (38–42 days) or a short-duration package (20–25 days) can be chosen by pilgrims under the government scheme, with estimated costs ranging from Rs1.15 million to Rs1.25 million.

Overseas Pakistanis intending to perform Hajj can apply through a close relative at any designated bank branch in Pakistan. Upon arrival in Pakistan, they will be required to provide a medical fitness certificate.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs has emphasized that once the allocated quota is filled, the application process will be closed immediately. Applicants are encouraged to submit their applications promptly to secure their participation in the Hajj 2026 pilgrimage.
