ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) Bulgarian Military Review, a prominent European defense analysis outlet, has identified the destruction of India’s Russian-built S-400 air defense system as the most pivotal moment in the recent Pakistan-India conflict.

The report states that a Pakistani airstrike targeting the S-400 system at India’s Adampur Air Base represented a major shift in the conflict’s dynamics. Located just 100 kilometers from the Pakistan border, the base is a vital Indian military facility and hosts a Sukhoi fighter squadron.

The analysis stressed that neutralizing the highly advanced Russian system significantly weakened India’s air defense capabilities. It also highlighted Pakistan’s reported deployment of hypersonic missiles—possibly fired from JF-17 Thunder aircraft—as a substantial leap in its strike potential.

The platform further speculated that Pakistan may have indigenously adapted Chinese hypersonic missile technology, suggesting a growing sophistication in its arsenal. The loss of the S-400 system, the report warned, could have long-term implications for India’s defense planning and strategic posture.

Moreover, the attack was viewed as sending a clear symbolic message: Pakistan has acquired the ability to penetrate deep into Indian airspace. The assessment also pointed out that the S-400 system is vulnerable to saturation strikes and targeted attacks on its radar and command components.

As global media continues to dissect the aftermath of the conflict, analysts are describing the destruction of the S-400 not just as a tactical victory for Pakistan, but as a significant strategic setback for India’s military deterrence.
