
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, while addressing the inauguration ceremony of the electric bus project in Mianwali, said that the fare to go anywhere in an electric bus will be only Rs. 20.
She said that women, students and the elderly will be able to travel free in electric buses.
Maryam Nawaz said that as the Chief Minister of Punjab, it is my duty to protect the lives and property of the people and facilitate them. “The electric bus was first launched in Mianwali. Vote or not, we will continue to serve,” she added.
It is pertinent to note that 1,500 electric buses are coming to Punjab and 200 electric buses have already arrived.

During the inauguration ceremony Maryam also said that she is going to Alipur and other cities to share the sorrow of the flood affected people. “We will compensate the losses of every person who has suffered in the flood. The damage will be assessed immediately after the water recedes from the flood-affected areas,” she said.
CM said that Rs 1 million will be given to the heirs of each person who died in the flood, Rs 1 million will be given if a complete house collapses and Rs 500,000 if a room collapses, Rs 500,000 will be given for the loss of cows and buffaloes in the flood, and Rs 50,000 for sheep and goats.
