Islamabad (Web Desk): Air defense system shot down two unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), loitering near Faizabad, senior officials confirmed.

Pakistan’s air defense system successfully shot down two unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) that were reportedly flying near the sensitive Faizabad area in the federal capital, according to senior officials.

Authorities said the drones were seen loitering in the airspace, raising security concerns. The air defense system quickly responded and intercepted both UAVs before they could move further within the capital’s airspace.

Following the interception, officials temporarily closed Islamabad’s airspace as a precautionary measure to ensure safety and assess the situation. The temporary restriction caused brief disruptions in flight movement.

After security checks were completed and authorities confirmed that the situation was under control, normal flight operations were restored and air traffic resumed routine schedules.

Officials have not yet disclosed the origin or purpose of the drones. Security agencies are continuing their investigation to determine where the UAVs came from and why they were flying near such a sensitive location.

The incident has raised concerns about aerial security around the capital, especially in areas close to important government installations and transport hubs. Authorities are expected to review surveillance and defense measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.

This is a developing story.
