LAHORE (Web Desk): Pakistan’s security forces killed four Indian-backed terrorists during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Balochistan’s Panjgur district.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the operation was launched after intelligence reported the presence of “Khawarij belonging to Indian proxy, Fitna al Khawarij.” The term refers to terrorists linked to the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

During the operation, security forces engaged the terrorists in heavy fire. Four Indian-sponsored militants were killed, and weapons, ammunition, and explosives were recovered. The militants were reportedly involved in multiple terrorist activities in the region.

A sanitization operation was conducted to ensure no other militants remained in the area. The ISPR stated that the nationwide counter-terrorism campaign, named “Azm e Istehkam,” will continue to eliminate foreign-backed terrorism.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the security forces for their success. He said the government and the nation stand united against terrorism and are determined to eradicate it.

Earlier this month, 12 militants were killed during a similar operation in Kalat, Balochistan. The federal government launched the nationwide anti-militant operation last year to counter rising attacks on security forces.
