According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was carried out on December 25 after intelligence reports indicated the presence of terrorists linked to the Indian proxy group, Fitna-al-Hindustan.
During the operation, the security forces engaged the terrorists, and after intense firefight, all five were killed. Weapons, ammunition, and explosives were recovered from the site.
The terrorists were reportedly involved in multiple attacks in the region. ISPR confirmed that “sanitization operations are ongoing to eliminate any other Indian-sponsored terrorists in the area.” This is part of the broader Counter Terrorism campaign under the vision “Azm-e-Istehkam,” approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the security forces, stating, “We will foil the nefarious designs of terrorists who are enemies of humanity,” and reaffirmed the government’s determination to eradicate all forms of terrorism.
Earlier this month, 12 terrorists were killed during a similar operation in Kalat, Balochistan. Analysts note that violence surged in the third quarter of 2025 due to an increase in militant attacks and intensified counter-terrorism operations.
The nationwide anti-militant drive, codenamed ‘Azm-i-Istehkam,’ continues with full force to protect the country from foreign-sponsored terrorism.
