He was No. 2 in the group’s hierarchy, directly under Mufti Noor Wali Mehsud and one of the most notorious masterminds behind terrorism in Pakistan’s northwest.

* Recently arrived in Bajaur two weeks ago on the direct orders of Mufti Noor Wali Mehsud, where he was tracked and eliminated by Pakistani intelligence and special forces.

Key Terrorist Activities

He orchestrated multiple suicide bombings in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and former FATA.

He planned IED attacks on security convoys and civilian installations.

He led the TTP drone teams, responsible for quadcopter-based bomb drops on border outposts.

He was involved in burning and destruction of girls’ schools, an act symbolic of his extremist ideology.

He trained recruits for cross-border infiltration and ambush tactics against Pakistani security posts.

Qari Amjad also led TTP’s Quadcopter Teams and a dedicated team which was targeting girls schools in the area.

Strategic Significance

The elimination of TTP’s No. 2 has delivered a decisive blow to the group’s command structure.

It has weakened coordination between TTP’s Bajaur, Swat, and North Waziristan cells.

It marks another successful phase of Pakistan’s intelligence-driven CT campaign.

This success demonstrates zero-tolerance policy against terrorists threatening national stability.
