Pakistan is represented by a senior official from the Foreign Office, along with members from military and intelligence agencies. The Afghan delegation includes officials from the interior and foreign ministries, as well as intelligence representatives.
Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has neither confirmed nor denied the latest round of talks. However, sources suggest that dialogue is continuing quietly behind the scenes.
Tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan have increased since the Taliban came to power in 2021. Pakistan has repeatedly urged Afghan authorities to take action against militant groups operating across the border.
In particular, Islamabad has called for the dismantling of safe havens linked to the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan. These concerns have remained a key issue in bilateral relations.
