Protesters responded by throwing stones at security personnel, triggering more shelling on MT Khan Road and surrounding areas. Emergency rescue teams confirmed that six individuals were killed and several others were shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Officials said the situation remained volatile as authorities worked to stop crowds from reaching the diplomatic facility.

• PIDC-bound traffic was redirected away from protest zones.
• Routes toward Nishat Chowrangi and surrounding areas were also restricted.

The traffic police advised citizens to avoid affected areas and use alternative routes.

Protests Also Reported in Lahore

Similar protests were reported outside the US diplomatic area in Lahore, where demonstrators gathered and attempted to approach the consulate. Security forces prevented protesters from entering restricted zones and removed makeshift security camps set up outside the facility.
