
In the federal budget, the government allocated Rs2.122 trillion for the country’s defense expenditures, showing an increase of nearly 14.99 per cent from the last year’s allocation.
In budget 2022-23, the government had sanctioned Rs1.804 trillion on defence for the year 2023-24, which was approximately 13pc higher than the revised allocation for the outgoing year.

Under the guise of defence budget, the enemies are carrying out baseless and false propaganda to distort the facts.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), not even a single penny is spent from the public money on the institutions run by the Pakistan Army, while these institutions annually deposit billions of rupees in the form of taxes to the national exchequer.
Martyrs, veterans, retired officers and young men of Pakistan Army are the asset of the nation. There is an integrated system of welfare and care for them while Fauji Foundation plays a key role in this respect.
The military’s media affairs wing said that the institutions managed by the Pakistan Army do not take money from the government but annually deposit billions of rupees in the national treasury in the form of taxes and duties.
The ISPR said that the Pakistan Army and the institutions under its administration deposited about Rs360 billion in the national treasury in the form of taxes and duties in the year 2022-23.
Immeasurable are the services and sacrifices of Pakistan Army in every sector including security issues, education and health services, quality housing projects, welfare of retired officers, youth and heirs of martyrs, construction of infrastructure and roads in remote areas and agriculture etc, it said. Pakistan Armed Forces and its subsidiaries are playing their role in stabilizing the economy, it added.
