ISLAMABAD: (Suno News) The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has arrested 10 terrorists and their facilitators involved in the suicide bombing that killed five Chinese engineers at Besham in Shangla district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), about a week ago.

According to the CTD sources, those arrested belong to banged Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). The suicide bomber, who rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into a convoy of the Chinese engineers, belonged to Afghanistan.

The sources said that the TTP commander, who brought the suicide bomber from Afghanistan, is also in the CTD’s custody.

They further said that four facilitators of the terrorists had also been arrested, while the explosive-laden vehicle was also brought from Afghanistan.

“The vehicle entered Pakistani territory from Chaman border. It first reached Dera Ismail Khan and then Chakdara. The driver was paid Rs250,000 in fare,” the sources stated.

“The SIM of the suicide bomber’s cell phone led to the arrest of some key terrorists and their facilitators. The vehicle used in the suicide bombing remained parked at a petrol pump near Shangla for Rs500 per day for 10 days,” they added.

“One who helped bring the vehicle from Chaman to Chakdara has been arrested from Balochistan. Hazrat Bilal, the mastermind of the attack, who was involved in yet another attack on the Chinese nationals at Dasu a few years ago, will also be arrested soon,” they vowed.
