CJCSC, Australian military chief discuss defence ties

RAWALPINDI: (Suno News) General Angus J. Campbell, Chief of Defence Forces Australia, called on Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General (CJCSC) Sahir Shamshad Mirza at Joint Staff Headquarters, Rawalpindi, on Monday.

During the meeting, the two senior military leaders engaged in a comprehensive discussion on defence and security cooperation, regional dynamics, and global security challenges.

Both sides reiterated the resolve to further strengthen and enhance security and defence cooperation between the two countries.

The Australian dignitaries remained appreciative of the high professional standards of the Pakistan Armed Forces, their achievements in the fight against terrorism, and continued efforts for regional peace and stability.

It is to be noted here that General Angus J. Campbell is on an official visit to Pakistan for the 13th Round of Pakistan-Australia, Defence and Security Talks and the 10th Round of the 1.5 Track Security Dialogue.

Earlier upon arrival at Joint Staff Headquarters, General Angus J. Campbell was presented “Guard of Honour” by a smartly turned-out tri-services contingent.

COAS, Turkish FM discuss bilateral ties

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan called on Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir and discussed with him matters of mutual interest.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), both leaders expressed their satisfaction over the deep-rooted relations between the two countries, based on historic, cultural, and religious bonds.

The visiting dignitary commended the Pakistan Army’s role in maintaining peace and stability in the region.
