The order was issued by a two-member bench comprising Chief Justice Sarfaraz Dogar and Justice Muhammad Asif while hearing petitions related to the £190 million case and the suspension of sentences of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi.
During the hearing, representatives from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) appeared before the court, along with Barrister Safdar, who requested permission to meet his client before proceeding further with the appeals.
The Chief Justice approved the request and instructed jail authorities to ensure proper arrangements for the meeting, allowing the lawyer to consult his client in person.
The court also indicated that appeal hearings would be scheduled after the consultation, and once arguments begin, it aims to decide the cases within a short period.

Barrister Safdar had earlier filed an application requesting permission to meet both Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi, stating that he needed access to discuss legal matters related to the case.
He argued that he had not been able to hold a meaningful meeting with his client since December 20, 2025, which affected his ability to prepare effectively for the proceedings.
The court’s decision is seen as an important step in ensuring legal access and proper consultation ahead of the upcoming hearings.
