PESHAWAR (Web Desk): KP government has approved 2,800 school chowkidar jobs across 28 districts, opening fresh work chances for jobless people and aiming to improve school safety.

The provincial government has formally approved the recruitment of chowkidars in government schools across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The move targets less educated unemployed people and creates new employment opportunities.

According to officials, many chowkidar posts have remained vacant for a long time. The finance department said the hiring process will now begin to fill these gaps in a transparent way.

Recruitment will be done through advertisements, tests and strict merit. Authorities said this method will give equal chances to all eligible candidates and ensure fairness.

District-wise data shows Mansehra has the highest number with 377 posts. Bannu will get 263, Mardan 256, Peshawar 162, Lakki Marwat 160 and Abbottabad 154. Other districts will also receive posts based on need.

Provincial officials said the hiring will improve school security and also help reduce unemployment. Better monitoring in schools is expected once chowkidars are posted.

Public circles welcomed the decision and urged the government to continue launching similar job schemes for people with low education in the future.

This decision can quickly help jobless families. Schools may become safer with permanent staff. If hiring stays fair, public trust in government jobs can improve.
