The Punjab government has taken a major step to strengthen education and training for special children by approving a Rs48 crore budget for the Punjab Autism School and Resource Center. The decision aims to expand learning facilities and improve support services for children with autism.

According to sources in the concerned department, the approved funds will cover the period from December 2025 to June 2026. The budget will support academic programs, therapy sessions, administrative operations, and other essential expenses required to run the institution smoothly.

Officials said the allocation reflects the government’s growing focus on inclusive education. The Punjab Autism School and Resource Center plays a key role in providing specialized education, behavioral therapy, and skill development for children with autism across the province.

A significant portion of the budget has been earmarked for human resources. The plan includes salaries for 164 new posts, which have already received approval from the Board of Governors. These positions are expected to strengthen teaching, therapy, and support services at the center.

Authorities clarified that the salary packages for the newly approved posts will be implemented after formal clearance from the Selection Board. Once approved, recruitment will move forward to ensure timely deployment of qualified staff.
