(Web Desk): The Education Department of Balochistan has introduced major changes for the upcoming academic year, covering classes from primary to higher secondary levels.

These new steps aim to update learning standards and improve what students study in schools.

Under the revised plan, ‘Nazriya Quran’ along with the translation of the Quran will now be officially included in the curriculum from Class 1 to Class 12. For students of Classes 6 to 8, new Computer Education books will replace old editions that no longer match modern digital learning needs.

The department has also approved separate books for Classes 6 to 12 designed to promote the positive and responsible use of social media among students. These books aim to guide young learners on safe online behavior and digital awareness.

Earlier, the Punjab Education Curriculum Training and Assessment Authority had also decided to replace 29 books for middle and high classes in the next academic year. Books for Classes 6 to 9 will be changed, with Class 9 receiving the highest number of updates, where 18 books will be replaced. The authority has already started preparing the new editions.

PECTAA has sent official letters to all educational institutions informing them about the upcoming changes. Publishers have also been instructed to prepare new printing orders so the updated books can be supplied on time.

These changes show that the education system is moving toward modern needs. The focus on digital skills and safe social media use seems important for students. Adding Quran translation from early classes shows a shift toward stronger religious learning. With new books coming soon, schools must prepare for updates. Overall, the plan looks like a mix of tradition and modern learning.
