The Government of Hungary launched the program that offers students from all over the world the chance to pursue Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD, One-tier, and Part-time degree programs without worrying about financial expenses.

The last date to apply for the scholarship is 15th January 2026.

The scholarship not only covers full tuition fees, but also includes a monthly stipend, accommodation contribution, medical insurance, and even travel reimbursement from and to your home country.

With over 800 degree programs available across 30 Hungarian universities, students can choose from a wide range of disciplines — from medicine, architecture, and law to engineering, arts, and social sciences.

Study Levels

    Full-Time Degree Programs

•         Bachelor programs: 2-4 Years (BA, BSc)
•         Master programmes: 1.5-2 Years (MA, or MSc Degree)
•         One-tier master programs: 5-6 Years (MA, or MSc Degree)

    Non-degree programs

•         Preparatory course in the Hungarian language: 1 Year (Certificate)
•         Postgraduate specialist training courses: 1-2 Years (Certificate)

The one-tier master’s programs in Hungary combine undergraduate and postgraduate studies, providing a complete higher education journey in one track.

How to Apply for Stipendium Hungaricum 2026

·        No application fee is required.

·        Visit the official portal and register at apply.stipendiumhungaricum.hu

·        Each applicant can select up to two study programs in order of preference.

·        Applications must be submitted through your country’s Designated Sending Partner Institution — direct applications to universities are not accepted.

·        You do not need an admission offer from a university to apply.

·        Only nominated candidates will move to the next stage of selection.

·        Applicants are advised to check the Partners Tab on the website to find their country’s eligibility details and nomination process.
