Punjab Chief Minsiter Maryam Nawaz Sharif conducted a cabinet meeting on Wednesday. The cabinet rejcted a proposal ti increase fares or electric buses in Multan, , Rawalpindi, and Lahore.
The meeting approved the recruitment of school teacher interns in government schools across the province.
The cabinet also endorsed the Punjab Protection of Ownership of Immovable Property Ordinance 2025, supporting the chief minister’s vision of “One who possesses it owns it.”
The Chief Minister’s High-Tech Farm Mechanisation Finance Programme has approved a new subsidy scheme. The government will provide super seeders and other modern farm machinery with a 60 percent subsidy.

The cabinet has agreed to start the sugarcane crushing season by November 15. Officials said that under Kisan Card Phase-II, Rs100 billion has been distributed to farmers, while a record Rs70 billion has been recovered from the first phase. Once repayments are made, second-phase disbursements are processed within 24 hours.
The meeting also reviewed supply and price controls for DAP and urea fertilizers. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif highlighted that Punjab’s agriculture previously suffered due to limited focus on mechanisation.
