Eligibility Criteria for ASIP 2025-26
To apply for ASIP, PhD students from public sector universities must meet several conditions:
- PhD Enrollment: Only students currently enrolled in a PhD program at a public sector university in Pakistan are eligible.
- Approval Requirement: The research proposal must be approved by the relevant university forum, such as the Ethical Review Board or the Directorate of Research.
- Application Deadline: Applications must be submitted at least twelve weeks before the desired sample analysis date.
- Access to Tests: Tests must be unavailable at the applicant’s institution. If the equipment is available at their own university, they need to justify why they need access elsewhere.
- Supervisor Recommendation: Each supervisor can recommend up to four applications per year.
Key Features of the ASIP
The ASIP offers significant funding to aid research:
- Funding: A maximum of Rs200,000 per year can be granted to cover the cost of sample analysis.
- Multiple Applications: Applicants can submit multiple applications, but the total funding cannot exceed Rs200,000 per year, with a limit of three disbursements during the entire PhD program.
- Location of Tests: All tests must be conducted at public sector universities or recognized R&D organizations.
- Payment Process: The HEC will pay the service provider directly after the successful completion of the sample analysis.
