The scholarships are exclusively for PhD programs and do not cover MS leading to PhD programs. Preference will be given to applicants with prior research experience in relevant subject areas as specified by HEC.
Eligibility Criteria
General Requirements:
- Minimum 4-year bachelor's degree (16 years of education)
- No 2nd or 3rd division throughout academic career for Category I scholarships
- Maximum age: 40 years for government employees or public sector university faculty; 35 years for researchers at approved R&D institutions
- Applicants must not be receiving any other scholarship

Scholarship Categories
Category I – Top 50 QS World Ranked US Universities:
- Full tuition fees as per university
- Stipend and health coverage included
- Requires admission in a top 50 QS World Ranked university
- Valid GRE General score (minimum 300) or HAT (minimum 60%)
Category II – 51–100 QS World Ranked US Universities:
- PKR 1,200,000 per annum
- Stipend and health coverage included
- Requires admission in QS World Ranked universities 51–100
- Valid GRE General score (minimum 300) or HAT (minimum 60%)
HEC stated that only applicants meeting both general and specific eligibility criteria will be considered, with selection based on merit.
