(Web Desk): Supreme Court of Pakistan has ordered reduction of legal education period from 5 years to 4 years and has also removed the requirement of special equivalence exam for foreign law graduates to practice in Pakistan.

The application of the Pakistan Bar Council to suspend the Special Equivalency Examination (SEE-LAW) for law graduates of foreign universities has been approved by the Supreme Court of Pakistan as the application for law graduates of foreign universities was pending for enrolment as it added an extra burden on foreign law degree holders, because they had already appeared for LAW-GAT. This decision of the Supreme Court was commended by Ch. Tahir Nasrullah Warriachand, Vice Chairman of the Pakistan Bar Council.
