LAHORE (Web Desk): The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has increased the minimum marks required for admission into MBBS and BDS programs.

The eligibility criteria for Intermediate (Pre-Medical) or equivalent education have been raised from 60% to 65%.

It has been officially confirmed in a formal notification issued by PMDC Registrar Dr. Shaista that this new standard will apply to admissions for the academic year 2025–2026. According to the new policy, only those candidates will be eligible to apply for MDCAT who have secured at least 65% marks in their F.Sc. or equivalent exams.

It is important to note that all applicants must take the MDCAT exam in their respective province or region of residence. For candidates residing abroad, the only international test center has been established in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

PMDC has also made the MDCAT syllabus available on its official website to help candidates prepare for the exam.
