Punjab University announces sudden holiday amid unrest fears
(Web Desk): Punjab University announced an unexpected holiday early at 11 a.m. due to security concerns.

Lahore city witnessed major disruptions on Friday amid fears of possible protests. Normally, schools close at noon on Fridays, but authorities decided to end academic activities an hour earlier to ensure the safety of students and citizens. Exams scheduled for today were also postponed.

Punjab University canceled all classes after 11 a.m., instructing students to vacate the campus as a precautionary measure. Officials stated that the decision was made to prevent any untoward incidents during the expected demonstrations.

Adding to the citywide restrictions, both the Orange Line Metro Train and Metro Bus Service were suspended temporarily to maintain law and order.

The early closure of educational institutions and suspension of public transport reflect the heightened state of alert in Lahore.
