LAHORE (Web Desk): Punjab’s Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat has announced a major review of the 9th-grade syllabus after receiving numerous complaints from parents, teachers, and students.

The minister said that the current curriculum is too difficult and stressful for students of that age group. He acknowledged that the syllabus has become a burden, affecting students  mental well-being and overall academic performance.

To address the issue, the education ministry has formed a committee of curriculum experts and teachers. This team will review the syllabus and suggest changes to make it simpler and age-appropriate.

“We have heard the voices of parents and teachers. Students are under unnecessary pressure, and we are working to ease that,” said Rana Sikandar Hayat. He assured that “students will hear good news soon” regarding syllabus reduction and simplification.

Parents and educators have been voicing concerns for months. Many believe the syllabus is too advanced for 9th-grade students, leading to stress and low exam scores. Teachers have urged the government to revise the curriculum gradually, making it more engaging and manageable.

This decision is expected to benefit thousands of students across Punjab, who have been struggling with the current academic demands.
