
The announcement was made during the Standing Committee of the National Assembly on National Health Services, Regulations, and Coordination, under the chairmanship of Dr. Mahesh Kumar Malani. The representatives of PMDC apprised the committee that MDCAT 2025 would be held across the country on October 5, 2025, simultaneously throughout all provinces.

Last week, the PMDC also released the new MDCAT syllabus for 2025. As per the PMDC President Dr. Rizwan Taj, the new exam will cover five subjects, which are Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English, and Logical Reasoning.
The exam will be of 180 MCQ questions and will be completed in a total of three hours. The whole paper will be MCQ with no negative marking. Questions will be divided based on difficulty level: 15% easy, 70% moderate, and 15% hard.
Candidates need to achieve at least 55% to get admission in medical college and 50% to get admission in dental college, Dr. Rizwan elaborated.
He also informed that PMDC has started working on a centralized question bank for the next exam. The new syllabus was formulated after consulting academic experts, educational boards, and universities to make it fair and academically relevant.
