
Due to the extreme weather condition and snowfall, all public and private educational institutions in various areas including Abbottabad, Galiyat, Barangli, Nagri Bala, Nathia Gali, Khaira Gali, Tajwal Pattan Kalan, Kokum, and Namli will remain closed.
Iftikharul Ghani, District Education Officer (DEO), has issued an official notification for the closure of schools in Galiyat until March 7. The notification instructed subordinate officers to comply with the order.
The authorities have announced a holiday (today) in schools across five districts In Azad Kashmir due to extreme cold weather.
Poonch Commissioner Sardar Waheed said that all educational institutions will remain closed in Poonch Division. Meanwhile, Muzaffarabad Division Commissioner Masoodur Rehman confirmed a holiday for all schools in Neelum district.
The officials have also urged tourists to avoid unnecessary travelling particularly to Neelum Valley and Leepa Valley. They have put the rescue teams and local administration on high alert.
Moreover, heavy snowfall in Murree and Galiyat has led to road closures and travel restrictions, prompting the district administration to impose a ban on tourists’ entry to the city.
