In a major step toward women empowerment, the Punjab government under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced a Rs12,000 monthly stipend for educated rural women through Round 3 of the Maryam Nawaz Skilled Youth Program.
According to the Punjab Skills Development Fund (PSDF), this initiative is Pakistan’s first large-scale digital skills program exclusively designed for educated women from rural Punjab, enabling them to build meaningful careers from home while achieving financial independence.
What Is the Maryam Nawaz Digital Skills Program?
The program aims to equip educated rural women with modern digital skills, professional tools, and career guidance needed to succeed in today’s digital economy. Selected candidates will receive six months of instructor-led, certified digital training under expert supervision.
To ensure uninterrupted learning, participants will receive a total monthly stipend of Rs12,000, including Rs5,000 as a training stipend and Rs7,000 as internet and device allowance.

Beyond Training: Freelancing, Remote Work, and E-Commerce
In addition to technical training, the program offers continuous mentorship, career counseling, and professional guidance. Participants will be introduced to freelancing, remote work, and e-commerce opportunities, enabling them to earn with dignity while contributing to their families and local communities.
Officials say the initiative reflects CM Maryam Nawaz’s vision of empowering women through education, skills, and sustainable income opportunities.
Eligibility Criteria for Rs12,000 Women Stipend Program
Women applying for the Skilled Youth Program must meet the following criteria:
- Minimum 16 years of education
- Must be a resident of rural Punjab
- Age between 21 and 40 years
- Must pass the entry test
- Program is open only to educated women
