Punjab boards have introduced digital biometric verification for students appearing in the 2026 Matric and Intermediate exams. The move aims to eliminate impersonation and ensure fairness across all exam centers.

The decision was finalized in a Lahore BISE meeting chaired by Task Force Committee Chairman Muzammil Mehmood, attended by senior officials from all nine boards. Students will now undergo digital verification before entering exam halls. Practical exams will also include standardized grading, CCTV monitoring, and digital marking to prevent malpractice.

Exam supervisors will receive increased compensation to maintain strict adherence to examination rules. Chairman Mehmood emphasized zero tolerance for manipulation or bribery, warning of strict legal action for violators. The reforms are expected to restore credibility to Punjab’s education system and provide a fair testing environment. Detailed guidelines will be shared with schools before the 2026 exam season.
