The statement came amid speculation that schools might shift to online learning due to energy-saving plans linked to rising oil prices after the US-Israel attack on Iran. The minister said there is no proposal to suspend physical classes or switch to digital sessions.
Hayat highlighted that schools are currently conducting assessments for students from Grade VIII to XII and that the academic calendar will proceed as planned. Both government and private schools will follow normal schedules.

The remarks come a day after reports suggested that the federal government may introduce a “national action plan” including online classes, remote work for corporate and IT sectors, and reduced office attendance to save energy. Similar measures were used during the COVID-19 pandemic.
