The Punjab government has officially announced revised school timings for Ramazan 2026, applying to all public and private educational institutions across the province. The move aims to facilitate students, teachers, and school staff observing fasts while maintaining academic schedules during the holy month.
According to a notification issued by the School Education Department Punjab on February 16, the new Ramazan timings will remain in effect for the entire duration of Ramazan, ensuring convenience and efficient academic management.
Single-Shift School Timings
- Monday to Thursday: 8:30 AM – 1:00 PM
- Friday: 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM

Double-Shift School Timings
Morning Shift (Mon–Thu): 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Evening Shift (Mon–Thu): 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Friday Evening Shift: 2:30 PM – 5:00 PM
Girls’ Schools Adjustments
All girls’ schools will open and close 15 minutes earlier than boys’ schools to accommodate local arrangements and ease daily routines.
Purpose of Revised Timings
Authorities emphasized that the adjusted schedule aims to reduce academic pressure, allow students and teachers to maintain energy while fasting, and ensure a balanced daily routine during Ramazan.
Ramazan Start Date
The holy month of Ramazan is expected to begin on February 19, 2026, subject to moon sighting confirmation. Regular school hours will resume after the end of Ramazan.
