The CERN Summer Student Program 2026 offers foreign and Pakistani Bachelor’s and Master’s students in physics, engineering, computer science, and mathematics a rare chance to work with world-leading research teams at CERN in Geneva, gaining hands-on research experience and global exposure.
Program Details
- Duration: 8 to 13 weeks between June and September 2026
- Location: CERN Headquarters, Geneva, Switzerland
- Financial Support: Daily tax-free allowance of 93 CHF (~2,800 CHF/month), including meals and accommodation
- Travel & Health Coverage: Round-trip travel to Geneva and comprehensive health insurance included
- Activities: Work on technical/scientific projects, attend lectures by leading scientists, and visit CERN’s specialized facilities
Eligibility Criteria
- Students must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program (PhD candidates are not eligible)
- Completion of at least six semesters (three years) of university studies by summer 2026
- Fields of Study: Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics
- Language Requirements: Good knowledge of English required; French is an advantage
- Open to students of all nationalities, including Pakistani students
- Note: Students from the USA, Japan, and Canada may need to apply through national programs
