LAHORE (Suno News): Lahore DSP Usman Haider is accused of killing his wife and daughter after a long family dispute, police sources say.

Police sources said DSP Usman Haider allegedly shot dead his first wife and their daughter following ongoing domestic conflicts. The dispute had continued for a long time and became more serious after his second marriage.

According to police, the woman killed was Usman Haider’s first wife. Sources added that the DSP had married her by choice, but relations later worsened due to personal disagreements inside the family.

Police revealed that Usman Haider initially registered an FIR at Burki police station, claiming that his wife and daughter had been abducted. During investigation, however, he reportedly confessed to the crime.

The body of the woman was recovered from Sheikhupura, while the body of the daughter was found in Kahna. After the recovery, police arrested Usman Haider and started further investigation into the case.

Police officials said the inquiry is still underway and more facts are expected to come to light as the investigation moves forward.

In June this year, a woman allegedly gunned down her husband, a motorway cop, in the Mian Khan area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Mardan district.

According to Mardan police, the suspect had been arrested and a first information report (FIR) has been registered at the Baizai police station.

The FIR, registered under Section 302 (murder) of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and seen by Dawn.com, states that the complainant, the slain police official’s elder brother, alleged that he was asleep in his room when gunshots were heard in the house.

Incidents of homicides are frequently reported in various parts of the country. According to the Free and Fair Election Network (Fafen), Punjab, KP, and Sindh are among the regions with a higher number of murder FIRs.
