Underage driver hits motorcyclists in Lahore

Lahore (Suno News): A 14-year-old boy crushed three motorcyclists while driving in Shahdara Town area of Lahore. One got died on the spot and two others were injured in the accident.

According to the details, the police said that the police took the child into custody and locked him up. None of the child s parents have come to the police station yet. The relatives of the deceased came to the police station but no FIR was filed. Action will be taken after receiving the application from the relatives.

Later, the police registered a case against the juvenile driver. The case was registered against 14-year-old Hasher son of Omar in Shahdara Town. One person died on the spot while two others were injured in the car accident. The case has been registered on the complaint of Malik Naveed, the elder brother of the deceased Malik Amin. The FIR includes provisions of attempt to murder.

Taking notice of the incident, IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar expressed his anger over the traffic violations of underage drivers and ordered to intensify the crackdown against underage drivers across the province including Lahore.

IG Punjab said that unlicensed and underage drivers, who are the cause of accidents, should never be allowed on the roads, violators and underage drivers should be identified with the help of safe city cameras, and strict action should also be taken against the parents of underage drivers who cause casualties on the roads.

He said that zero tolerance should be adopted against those who violate over speeding, overloading, and one-way traffic, CTOs, District Traffic Officers, DPOs should go out in the field, and ensure implementation of traffic laws.
