Crackdown on bikers without helmets, safety features

LAHORE: (Suno News) A major crackdown has been ordered against motorcyclists who are not following traffic safety rules.

These rules require from motorcyclists ensure the use of helmets, indicators, front and back lights, or side view mirrors, as part of a mission to ensure safe travel for motorcyclists in Punjab.

Additional IG Traffic Punjab Mirza Farhan Baig has ordered action against those who do not follow safety measures. A spokesperson said that side view mirrors and indicators are necessary on motorcycles to prevent accidents and save lives. The additional IG has issued guidelines to all CTOs and DTOs.

He also said that along with the crackdown, awareness campaigns will be run about the importance of helmets, side view mirrors, and indicators. A large number of accidents on highways involve motorcyclists, and using side view mirrors, indicators, and helmets properly can save valuable lives.

Farhan Baig stated that a zero-tolerance policy will be adopted for safe travel and accident prevention.
