The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has introduced a smart new mobile application that uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to stop human smuggling and make airport immigration faster and easier.
The app was shown to Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi during a visit to FIA headquarters, where officials explained how the technology works and how it will help travelers.
The app is part of a pilot project and will first be used at Islamabad International Airport. According to the minister, this technology will not only help in catching human smugglers but will also reduce long waiting lines for passengers at immigration counters.

Minister Naqvi instructed the immediate release of funds to improve the FIA s IT systems. He also ordered that the FIA’s headquarters building be upgraded to support the new technology.
Naqvi told the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to quickly hand over new land for the FIA Academy, so training and operations can be improved. He also noticed that the FIA is short of staff and ordered recruitment for already approved positions to start right away.
He made it clear to FIA officials that the government will give them everything they need but in return, they must show results and improve their performance.
