(Web Desk): World Health Day is being observed today across Pakistan and around the globe, aiming to raise awareness about health issues and encourage the development of healthier societies.

World Health Day is marked every year on April 7. The idea was first approved in 1948 by the World Health Assembly, and the first celebration took place in 1950. Since then, it has become a global event focused on improving public health awareness. The day highlights the importance of not only physical fitness but also mental and social well-being.

In Pakistan, the Ministry of Health, Pakistan Medical Association, and various NGOs organize events, seminars, and awareness campaigns. These activities educate people about healthy lifestyles and preventive care.

Health experts emphasize that good health is not just the absence of disease but a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being. However, modern healthcare systems face many challenges, including limited resources, weak research capacity, and governance issues.

Another major concern is the lack of awareness about maintaining personal health. While many people understand physical illnesses, fewer know how to care for their overall well-being, including mental health.

In Pakistan, thousands of children die each year due to unsafe drinking water and malnutrition, highlighting the urgent need for better healthcare awareness and facilities.

World Health Day serves as a reminder that improving health systems and spreading awareness are essential for building a healthier future.
