(Web Desk): Dengue cases rise in Sindh, with Karachi and Hyderabad reporting hundreds of infections, prompting health officials to issue urgent warnings.

Sindh is witnessing a surge in dengue cases, prompting health authorities to issue urgent warnings to the public. According to the daily report from the Director General of Health Sindh, 50 new patients were admitted to government hospitals across the province, while 33 more received treatment in private hospitals.

In the Karachi division, 16 new patients were hospitalized, and Hyderabad recorded 22 new cases in government facilities. Over the past 24 hours, 63 patients recovered and were discharged from public hospitals, while 44 recovered in private hospitals. Fortunately, no deaths due to dengue have been reported in the province so far.

Testing continues actively, with a total of  5,070 people screened in public and private laboratories. Among them, 559 tested positive, with Karachi reporting the highest number of cases at 347, followed by Hyderabad with 212.

The Director General of Health Sindh urged residents to adopt preventive measures seriously. Citizens are advised to maintain clean surroundings, eliminate stagnant water, avoid mosquito-prone areas, and seek immediate medical care if symptoms like high fever, headache, or joint pain appear.

Authorities emphasize that community participation in vector control is essential to curb the spread of dengue. Health experts warn that with the ongoing rise in cases, timely preventive action by both citizens and local authorities is critical to avoid a wider outbreak.
