(Web Desk): Sindh reported 29 new dengue admissions and 86 fresh positive cases in the last 24 hours, with Karachi leading the surge.

Dengue infections in Sindh continued their upward trajectory as the Director General Health Sindh released the latest situation report on Monday, highlighting fresh cases across multiple districts.

According to the daily update, 29 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the province during the last 24 hours. Of these, 15 were taken to government hospitals, while private facilities reported 18 new admissions.

The Karachi Division once again emerged as the most affected region. Government hospitals in the city received six new dengue patients, while Hyderabad reported three new admissions during the same period.

Despite the rise in hospital entries, the report carried some encouraging signs. Fifteen patients were discharged from government hospitals after recovering, while 14 recovered at private facilities. The health authorities confirmed that no dengue-related death was recorded anywhere in Sindh in the past day.

The report noted a significant amount of testing activity, with 1,280 people screened for dengue in government and private laboratories. Out of these, 86 individuals tested positive. Karachi accounted for 61 of the new positive cases, keeping it firmly at the top of the provincial tally, while Hyderabad confirmed 25 positive results.

Health officials said the department is maintaining close surveillance of the situation as mosquito breeding increases with seasonal changes. The public has been urged to adopt preventive measures, including eliminating standing water, using mosquito repellents, and seeking timely medical attention in case of symptoms.
