The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has imposed a complete ban on male teachers in partner schools where girls are enrolled in high and higher secondary classes, a move aimed at improving the academic environment and student comfort.
According to details reported by news sources, the foundation has issued a fresh directive to all partner school administrations, instructing them to appoint only female teachers in girls’ sections. The notification emphasizes that the new rule must be implemented without delay and in full compliance.
PEF officials stated that the presence of male teachers in girls’ classrooms was creating discomfort among students and affecting their learning environment. They said multiple observations and complaints led to the decision, which they believe will ensure a safer, more supportive, and more focused atmosphere for female students.
In its instructions, PEF warned that any partner school found violating the policy would face strict disciplinary action. This includes warnings, penalties, or possible cancellation of partnership status depending on the severity of non-compliance.

The foundation has also directed school owners and principals to immediately remove male teachers from all girls’ sections and initiate new recruitments in line with the updated policy. Officials clarified that the measure is part of PEF’s broader efforts to raise educational standards and address concerns regarding student well-being in partner institutions.
School administrations have begun reviewing staff positions following the announcement, while education stakeholders await further guidance on implementation procedures in the coming weeks.
