LAHORE: (Web Desk) During the month of Ramadan, fasting people often feel sleepy, tired, and lethargic, which further reduces the body’s energy.

The effects of what we eat are reflected in our body. Good food, water, and sleep are necessary for the human body. Due to the lack of these three things, our body can experience fatigue, drowsiness, and irritability.

During Ramadan, eating twice a day (Suhur and Iftar) and the change in timings have effects on sleep, dietary schedule, and other activities.

Our body is not ready for these sudden changes. The body clock has to adapt to these changes in our schedule. Due to these changes, the body can face various diseases such as insomnia, nervous weakness, and diabetes.

This is the reason why people experience lethargy, fatigue, and lack of physical energy during Ramadan. However, the good thing is that to avoid being sleepy and tired is not too difficult. You can avoid this condition by doing simple things. Some guidelines must be followed so that our fasting and other responsibilities are not affected, and our health matters also continue to run smoothly.

According to medical experts, any normal person must sleep for at least eight hours a day. In the month of Ramadan, sleep duration is reduced. If a short nap is taken in the afternoon for 20 to 30 minutes, it can help compensate for the lack of sleep to some extent.

Suhur is the most important part of the fasting routine. Eating healthy food at Suhur helps sustain energy throughout the day without feeling tired.

It is very important to avoid dehydration during fasting, as dehydration can lead to headaches, lethargy, and fatigue. So it is important to get into the habit of drinking adequate amounts of water from Iftar to Suhur.

Due to the unavailability of food and water throughout the day, some people overeat, which leads to lethargy, an upset stomach, and digestive problems.

Therefore, it is important to monitor the amount of food in breakfast and choose foods that take longer to digest so that the body continues to be supplied with energy and does not feel tired.
