(Web Desk): Legendary stage and television comedian Anwar Ali passed away on Monday, September 1, 2025, following a prolonged illness, according to confirmations by his family.

Family sources revealed that Anwar Ali was admitted to a Lahore hospital on Sunday, August 31, after his condition worsened. He succumbed to health complications the next day despite medical efforts. He had been battling chronic lung and kidney diseases, and in the preceding weeks, he was dealing with additional complications including paralysis and heart-related issues.

Anwar Ali earned fame as a brilliant comedic force on both stage and television, drawing audiences with his sharp wit, expressive dialogue delivery, and social commentary through humour. Anwar Ali became a household name in Pakistan’s entertainment industry with his career spanning more than four decades.

He has performed alongside legends such as Mastana, Babu Baral, and Iftikhar Thakur and is known for standout television roles in classic dramas like Aangan Terha and Fifty Fifty. He also made his mark in Punjabi stage theatre.
