Taylor Swift had a spectacular night at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, winning seven trophies including Artist of the Year and Best Pop Album for The Life of a Showgirl. The show took place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
On stage, Swift offered advice to younger artists: focus on learning your craft before seeking online validation.
She said she spent thousands of hours as a teen playing guitar, writing songs, and making mistakes in private to grow. “Anything you feed your mind, it will internalise, and anything you feed the Internet, it will attempt to kill,” she said, emphasizing the importance of patience and practice.
Swift also won Song of the Year and Best Music Video for The Fate of Ophelia. Olympic figure skating champion Alysa Liu presented the Artist of the Year award to Swift, who praised Liu’s Olympic performance.
