(Web Desk): Popular TikToker, identified as Owais, tragically lost his life in Phalia, Punjab, while attempting to film a video in floodwater.

According to police, Owais had become well-known for recording videos in dangerous flood zones, which helped him gain popularity on TikTok.

His account had more than 164,000 followers and 1.16 million likes.

In an effort to boost his fame further, Owais began making even more dangerous videos in deep floodwater.

One of his recent videos went viral with millions of views and likes. However, during his latest shoot, he accidentally slipped into deep water and drowned.

Rescue 1122 teams quickly reached the scene and recovered his body, later handing it over to his family. The tragic news left his community in mourning.

Social experts have raised concerns that the race for likes, views, and followers on social media is driving young people into taking life-threatening risks.

Locals also stressed that the pursuit of virtual fame should not come at the cost of real-life safety.

They urged both the government and parents to raise awareness among the youth to prevent such heartbreaking incidents.

This tragedy highlights the dark side of social media fame. While platforms like TikTok provide opportunities for recognition, they can also push content creators toward reckless behavior in pursuit of viral success.

Owais’s death serves as a grim reminder that virtual validation should never outweigh personal safety.

It also raises serious questions about how much influence algorithms, trends, and online competition have over young lives.

Stronger digital literacy campaigns and family awareness programs are essential to protect youth from repeating such dangerous mistakes.
